My Story

Clint Levanen founder: At Levanen Underground everything we do today is rooted in the values and lessons that shaped me growing up. From an early age, I was taught the importance of doing things right, working hard, and keeping my word. My father’s small excavation company kept me grounded through my school years, introducing me to the basics of the industry and instilling a deep pride in honest, hands-on work.
After graduating high school, my adventurous spirit led me beyond the familiar streets and into the rugged logging industry of the Pacific Northwest. There, on the cold, wet, and unforgiving slopes of western Washington, I gained invaluable lessons. I learned the value of a strong work ethic, a safety-first mindset, and the power of positive attitudes and committed teamwork. These experiences solidified my belief in the importance of a strong company culture—an ideal that remains central to Levanen Underground today.
In 2010, I married a Minnesota native, and together we chose to build our life in the land of 10,000 lakes. My journey continued as I worked with several well-established excavation companies, gaining critical insights into the industry's operations, challenges, and opportunities. Where others saw obstacles, I saw opportunities—needs that I could meet through dedication, innovation, and integrity.
With optimism, a supportive network of friends and mentors, and a passion for excellence, I took a leap of faith in 2017 and founded Levanen Underground. Since then, we’ve focused on building strong relationships and working alongside amazing people, all while staying true to our core values.
Faith and family remain at the heart of everything we do. These guiding principles help us stay grounded and continue growing—not just as a business but as a family of our own. At Levanen Underground, we’re not just digging trenches—we’re building a legacy of trust, integrity, and community.
